This is an often forgotten but absolutely crucial part of the body that we need to fully understand to optimise movement, breathing and posture.

 Take a second to think about all of the muscles that attach onto the ribs in some form or other. Now think again….there are loads! 

  • Spinal Muscles
  • Trunk mobility muscles
  • Scapular and shoulder muscles
  • Core stability muscles

If the ribcage does not move optimally, then the muscles that attach to it are at risk of also being sub-optimal in their function. I see this clinically every single day with almost every single client.
